Jayant Yadav was born on November 24, 1988 in Haryana, India. He began his cricketing career playing for his state team, Haryana, and made his first-class debut for the team in the 2010-11 season. He was a consistent performer for Haryana in domestic cricket and was eventually selected to represent India A in a tour of Australia in 2015.


In 2016, Jayant Yadav was called up to the Indian national team for their Test series against England. He made his Test debut on November 17, 2016, and has since played a handful of Test matches for India.
